Audience Response

Watching some of the videos on YouTube made by Nigel Dick, I realised that the ones I researched at least were really big hits meaning that the audience liked how he made the videos was appealing for the different audiences. The video: ‘stick with you’’ by pussycat dolls the audience would appeal to young girls from the ages 12 to 17. Because it’s a girl band this girls would look at them and want to dance and sing like them. What we see in the video is the band dancing and singing just like their audience wants them to. This makes the audience look at it enjoy it and respond to it positively by buying their albums and songs.
On my other song ‘’broken’’ by Seether ft Amy Lee, this song is more likely to be appealing to two types of audience the ones that like Seether and the Evanescence (Amy Lee’s Band). I’d say that the audience for this would be teenagers from 16 to about 23 that enjoy rock. This song became a big hit because it has two big celebrities and the amount of people that watched this music and liked was way more than it would have been if this was only made by one of them. It shows because this song was a big hit when it came out because the people that listened to both bands enjoyed it. It’s a simple video for a simple song, and that’s what made people like it.
There are more songs that were made by Nigel dick that became very big hits like: ‘’Wonderwall’’ by oasis, ‘’oops I did it again’’ by Britney spears amongst others. These are all very well known songs and they became what they are by the video that Nigel Dick made and then everyone wanted to have these songs on their iPods.
Also comments on YouTube like: ‘’this is a great video and this song is amazing’’ prove that the audience is happy with the product. Nigel Dick also got awards for best director in some of his videos and he wouldn’t get it if the audience response to his videos was negative.
In my opinion Although not all the videos he made weren’t on top 10 in charts the ones that got there will be remembered for a very long time because the audiences watched them liked them, most of them ended up spending money on the songs so it’s obvious that Nigel Dick not only knows what is needed to make a good music video he gives the audience what they want making them happy and spending their money on it.
